Need to move from traditional training to comprehensive employee development? After a period of both acquisition and organic growth, an energy company decided that their loosely-coupled training function—with part in the field and part at corporate headquarters—was not serving its current business needs. A steering committee was formed to lead reorganization with representatives from all key stakeholders within the company. Linda worked as part of a consulting team to suggest ways to reorganize the function for greater efficiency and effectiveness. Linda led the team’s benchmarking research and analysis of centralization vs. decentralization. The result was a hybrid model that captured the best of both worlds and was firmly endorsed by company leadership.
